The First Scene of my Middle Grade Book
“No one is ever prepared to speak with a ghost, but sometimes they’re the only ones you can talk to. Malohi approached the spirit of a woman, hoping that maybe she could tell him where he was. He assumed she was a spirit, anyway. She was floating in the air, wearing a dress that was in fashion at least two hundred years ago — possibly more — and her hair drifted around like seaweed on the beach. Yes. Most likely a spirit. A ghost.”
I rewrote the opening paragraph of this scene after illustrating it. So it doesn’t totally match the scene now (originally she appeared from behind him). Anyway, pretty sure this is done…yeah it’s done.
